Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscript is original, and the authors undertake not to submit it to other publications simultaneously. For this, a Cover letter, which also contains the name and surname of each author, identifying the role they played in the development of the manuscript, according to the criteria of the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
  2. The manuscript is in one of the languages of publication: Spanish or English.
  3. The manuscript has been submitted in a format compatible with the most recent version of the Word.
  4. The manuscript complies with all the requirements established in the journal's Author Guidelines.
  5. The manuscript complies with the journal's ethical policies. The authors must assure that their manuscripts comply with the principles on the Integrity of Scientific Research as established in the Singapore Declaration.
  6. The article must have a version of the title, summary, and keywords in English and Spanish.
  7. If the article is derived from a research project, the name or code of the project, source of funding and year must be stated.
  8. Whenever possible and available, links to URL addresses are included in the references.
  9. Whenever possible, the DOI code is included in the references.
  10. Whenever possible, the article connects with the dataset, with complete citation, include DOI of dataset.

Research articles

This is a manuscript that provides a detailed presentation of the original results of field research.

Research articles—theoretical, empirical, or educational proposals—should be between 7,000 and 9,000 words in length, not including spaces. Appropriate language and writing skills are expected. There should be consistency between the title, body, and conclusions. Essential criteria are: theoretical basis, methodological rigor, critical interpretation of results and/or conclusions. Proper use of critical apparatus according to APA version 6.

Papers should be sent or uploaded electronically in a Word document with 12-point Arial font and 1.5 line spacing. Files should be properly labeled with the short title of the article.

 

Review articles

It is a manuscript containing the results of completed research that presents an updated overview of a field of study, identifying advances in the area and the main theoretical and methodological trends. Its main feature is a careful review of references on the field of study.

Essays

It is a manuscript that offers documentary research from an analytical, interpretative, and critical perspective.
