Types of contributions

In <<Knowledges>> receives papers that may be reflections and dissertations on the educational thought.

In <<To do´s>> receives papers on research from perspectives and designs that may involve field work with qualitative, quantitative or mixed scopes.

In <<Notes>> receives reflections on the teaching work and classroom life.

In <<Critical Book Reviews>> accepts texts that describe books from the pedagogical and education field, that may be no more than 3 years old since their publication.

Review process results

The review process result will be communicated to the authors and is unappealable. The result may be:

Publishable:  The text may be published just in the version in which it was submitted.

Publishable with minor modifications: The editorial board asks for and recommends some minor changes to the authors. Once the changes are verified, the article is accepted.  

Publishable with mayor modifications: the article may be accepted after necessarily incorporating the changes suggested by the reviewers.

Unpublishable: The manuscript does not fulfill the criteria of relevance, originality and quality, and therefore,, is not accepted in the Journal.

Indexing

The journal Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía. «Saberes y Quehaceres del Pedagogo», is indexed in the data bases of the Regional System of online information for scientific journals for Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal, (Sistema Regional de Información en Línea para Revistas Científicas de América Latina, El Caribe, España y Portugal) (LATINDEX); Latinamerican Quotes in Social sciences and Humanities (Citas Latinoamericanas en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades) (CLASE); Journal Index on Higher education and educational Research (Índice de Revistas sobre Educación Superior e Investigación Educativa) (IRESIE); Elton B. Stephens Company (EBSCO),  Alert Diffusion on the Web  (Difusión de Alertas en la Red) (DIALNET), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and, Google Scholar.

In order to preserve the texts of the Journal, as well as sharing them with the mentioned indexers, these texts are preserved in Scripta (https://scripta.up.edu.mx/) the institutional repository of Universidad Panamericana.

Open access policy

This journal grants an immediate open access to its content, based on the principle upon which offering the public a free  open access to research helps to a major global knowledge exchange.

 Code of Ethics

It is considered to be among the good practices of research and the professional ethics of research that the authors of Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía. Saberes y quehaceres del pedagogo, must have into consideration these aspects:

1. The text must be unpublished. Texts previously sent to the journal or that are currently under review in other journals will not be accepted.

2. The text must explicitly include the research sources from which any information is extracted. The list of sources must include their complete data. DOI number and URL of sources must be given when available. 

3. Every paper will be submitted to an anti plagiarism software check.

4. The author or authors of the paper must be acquainted and must agree with the copyright policy. This is, in case of the publication of  the paper this supposes the yielding of the copyright to  the Universidad Panamericana, which reserves the right to distribute the published version of the paper, or its review, on the Internet, according to the current laws. The journal distributes its articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

5. The editorial staff of the journal commits itself to manage the received papers for its possible publication in a just, impartial and confidential way.

6. The sent papers that meet the mentioned requirements in the “Instructions for authors section” will be submitted to a double-blind peer reviewed process, in which anonymity among authors and reviewers will be kept. Critical reviews will not be submitted to a double-blind peer reviewed process, but will be considered by the editorial staff.
