About the Journal

Scope

Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía is a scientific, international, indexed and double-blind refereed publication, edited since 2000 by the Escuela de Pedagogía by Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City. Since 2017, it became a digital publication. Starting in 2024, it begins with continuous publication. Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía receives contributions in Spanish and English throughout the year, it does not have publication fees and the judging process takes between 4 and 6 weeks. The percentage of acceptance of contributions, from 2021 to 2024, has been 57%.

Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía publishes unpublished and specialized contributions of a national and international nature, which contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of education and pedagogy through the study of paradigms, approaches, theories, models and educational expressions. Of particular interest are contributions focused on two main lines:

  1. Educational theory and thinking, with topics related to: educational theories, didactic thinking, character formation, epistemology of education, history of education, sociology of education, educational psychology and human development.
  2. Actors, processes and educational institutions, with topics on: educational policy and financing of education, educational management and direction of educational institutions, educational orientation, educational practice in formal and non-formal environments, teacher training, educational evaluation, academic trajectories, subjects of education, curriculum and research on educational research.

Approved manuscripts are published in the order and number defined by the Editorial Team.

Adhesion to International Declarations

Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía is committed to open access with good practice related to research, authorship and scientific publishing, thus promoting compliance with the following statements at the various stages involved in the publication process:

Preservation of digital archives

Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía supports the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system as a permanent and secure archive for the journal. CLOCKSS is an open code program developed by the Library of Stanford University that enables libraries to preserve selected web-based magazines. It regularly searches registered journals to compile and file newly published contents. Each file is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any contents that may be damaged or lost can be restored using those records or the journal itself.

The journal is also stored and viewed in the institutional repository SCRIPTA, which is managed by the Library of Universidad Panamericana. SCRIPTA enables the preservation of the documents published by the journal as well as retrieval through the different repository networks worldwide. Additionally, as a preventive measure in the event of system failure or discontinuity of the publication, the institutional Library preserve restricted copies of the documents to ensure their perpetuity over time.

Access and Publication Costs

In compliance with open access policies, Revista Panamericana de Pedagogía provides free access to all published articles and encourages the sharing and dissemination of texts at no cost to readers. The journal, does not consider costs for authors associated with the publication of manuscripts.
