Abstract
During his discourse when receiving the Nobel prize, the mexican poet Octavio Paz highlighted the importance and difficulty of living the present, living the real reality, living the presence. Arround this idea Paz's conceptions appear regarding the nature of man, his aspiration or nostalgia for the infinite, the human and natural character of the supernatural, the mith and the feast in the religious experience and the mass as the moment in which thirst and satiety join. In this essay each of this conceptions are alluded in order to fathom the religious nature of the human being and the human nature of religion, using Octavio Paz's poems and reflections.
