Resumen

Thomas Reid (1710-1796) fue un filósofo ilustrado escocés que delineó una concepción muy rica y completa de la naturaleza humana, para concluir que ésta es muy especial. Si bien pudo haberse llegado a esta naturaleza por mera evolución biológica y conductual, al ser ella tan especial, no cabe duda de que su evolución también habría continuado de manera muy peculiar; un modo que plausiblemente daría lugar a la coevolución genocultural tan reivindicada por los estudiosos actuales de la naturaleza humana. Reid es, por consiguiente, un claro precursor de las teorías en torno a dicha coevolución.
