Abstract

After collecting some indications in Aristotle's works, I'll try to show that the logical works by Aristotle (including some other suggested by Aquinas) reflect a good synthesis of the activities developed by human reason (lógos), and this synthesis can be obtained taking as a basis the different kinds of argumentation; secondly, I'll try to show how the Aristotelian synthesis can reach its high stand of flexibility and openness because it has inherited the cultural tradition of poetic and mythological argumentation developed by the Greek culture from centuries VII to IV B.C.
