Abstract
Ramón Xirau briefly lectures on some of the main ideas of Fear and Trembling, such as the individual, generality, aesthetics, ethics, religiosity, etc., and he contrasts them, leaning on Kierkegaard's diaries and other works, such as Either/Or, with Hegel's systematic philosophy in order to underline the purpose of the danish philosopher: to prefer the individuality against the systematicity, to reject mediation or synthesis in order to move on with the election of either this or that, either thesis or antithesis. Other topic which is linked with religiosity and the individual, which is briefly analysed in parallel to the notion of person, is the topic of love and the works of love.
