Abstract
The author comments on the poetic category in the aesthetic from the reflexion on the female characters that were prey of the powers of seduction: Donna Elvira of Mozart's Don Giovanni, Maria Deaumarchais of Goethe's Clavijo, and John's Cordelia from the Diary of a Seducer. These female figures, whose poetic force is comparable to the one of Antigone, are different because of the power of seduction, for in these stage the pathetic female response does not consist in seeking for the oblivion and the relief of their sorrow, but in the remembrance and the pain of their most precious treasure.
