Abstract
This paper explores a metaphysical or transcendental perspective on literature, understood as an action and not as a product. This perspective is the one of Jorge Luis Borges; literature is not a held construct that has nothing to do with the world precisely because it conformas an exit for it, rather, literature is a path to happiness, a door to transcendence, a reflection of ontological truth that finds its sense not by itself nor by the author nor by the reader, but by Something or Someone else. Borges' invitation, the interpretation which is here tried to present, consists in divest literature from that image which is merely recreational, perfectionist, product subject to aesthetic criticism, with pretensions of objectivity and a pompous inclination towards adulating the one who writes. The metaphysics Borges reflects in his philosophy of literature provides a great number of interesting proposals not only for aesthetics or metaphysics, but to antropology itself and to daily life.
