Abstract

The author explains the poetic syllogism and its relation with imagination. He shows that Alfarabi thinks that the use of this kind of syllogism is relevant in any kind of discourse but especially in the philosophical discourse. The paper confirms the argumentative versatility of both Aristotle's and Alfarabi's logics.
