Abstract

In this proem, saint Thomas Aquinas commences with a brief discussion on act, potence, completeness and perfection, and transfers this to science in order to enunciate that philosophy of nature, to be constituted as a complete and perfect science in so far as its development has reached its last act, ough to descend to species but not to individuals. For that reason, Thomas Aquinas claims that the book Meteorologica is the last part of philosophy of nature and he sustains that it is about the transmutations that the elements suffer in each of their species.
