Abstract

In this paper I offer a conceptual reconstruction of pragmatism that places the function and the meaning of religion within its philosophical framework. Such a reconstruction is focused on the notions of belief and action as they are articulated in the pragmatic maxim endorse by C. S. Peirce, which I read as a useful mean to emphasize the social and ethical contents of religion.
