Abstract

The problem of the anthropogenic destruction of nature fundamentally links the notions of Anthropocene and ecocide. It not only implies a crime against biodiversity, but also a form of environmental self-destruction that involves human beings. Humanity, which in its development has built history and left symbolic advancements based on the degradation of the environment, is an agent of the nature it faces, just as (by extension) a microcosm affects the macrocosm in which it is inserted without being outside or independent of it. The aim of this article is to explain how, thanks to an understanding of nature and to nature itself as reason, it is possible to analyze in depth, from the global complex of self-destruction addressed, the need for an ecosuicidology. To do this, I present the philosophical meaning and significance of the term.
