Ratio decidendi focuses on the study of constitutional and conventional justice and the impact of its work in the different areas of law: constitutional, private, procedural, human rights and administrative law, among others, and its effect on state performance, especially in public policies.

The journal pursue to promote an enriching dialogue in the legal community about the performance of constitutional justice and its contributions to strengthening the rule of law, constitutional democracy and the edification of a common rationality in constitutional matters.

Ratio decidendi has an international vocation and call authors from all countries with the intention of encouraging the development of legal comparison and thus contributing to the generation of valuable and applicable legal knowledge in different legal enviroments.

Research papers (doctrine), academic studies of constitutional court and international court rulings, and review articles are welcome.

Ratio decidendi is an international, digital, open access, continuous publication, peer-reviewed, double-blind scientific journal. Its website is bilingual and receives papers in English and Spanish. The journal does not charge for publishing. Articles may have accompanying material in the form of a published dataset.

The journal complies with the good practices of scientific integrity within the framework of the Singapore declaration, and the COPE code of editorial ethics.

The journal is under the care of the Universidad Panamericana, who finances its publication, and agrees that the published articles will be available in perpetuity.
