Abstract

In this work is exposed the genus-subject of the three major zoological Works of Aristotle (Historia
Animalium,
De
Partibus
Animalium
and De
Generatione
Animalium
), that is, the homogeneous and heterogeneous parts of animals and its mutual relationship, and not the immutable “essences” of animals. Parts of animals are the genus-subject and first criteria of the order of books and chapters of Aristotelian zoological works. The study of nature and tò tí en eînai
corresponds to philosophy of nature and metaphysics.
