Abstract

I arrived at the library a few minutes early. The cubicle I was looking for has a somewhat labyrinthine access, characteristic of the history of the building that houses it. Upon arriving at the location, Dr. Aspe was at work. She was writing swiftly, with that clear and expansive handwriting I am well acquainted with. I decided to wait until the exact time to avoid interrupting her. One can recognize when the mind is progressing, and it would be an offense to disrupt such a process. When the time arrived, I peeked in again and noticed that she was on the phone, but I wanted to let her know that I was there, so I took the liberty of knocking on the door. She soon finished her conversation and invited me in. She has a light table, and as she greeted me, she cleared the space so that we could work together. This generous gesture, which invites collaboration and collective construction. I showed her the recorder I had brought for the meeting, which would allow us to engage in dialogue freely (despite what Walter Benjamin may argue). There is something intransferable about the encounter, shaped by respect and proximity.
