Abstract

The relationship between Kierkegaard and Stirner is a largely overlooked topic in academic discourse. Both thinkers were part of the broader philosophical revolution that arose from the perceived limitations of the German idealist paradigm. Their respective concepts of “Single One” (Enkelte, Kierkegaard) and “Unique” (Einzige, Stirner) represent a challenge to the socio-political status
quo and a rejection of the metaphysical tradition. The objective of the present article is to evaluate the Stirnerian existential project (the identity between self-enjoyment and self-consumption) in the framework of the Kierkegaardian analysis of despair.
