Abstract

El auge del tema de la interpretación en la filosofía contemporánea ha suscitado una crítica a aquellas posturas que hacen de todas las realizaciones de la praxis humana una forma de interpretación, aclimatando un relativismo para el cual no existiría ninguna verdad objetiva. Este artículo sostiene que la hermenéutica de Hans-Georg Gadamer se libera de este reproche al elaborar una noción dialéctica de “interpretación” para la cual interpretar no es imponer un significado arbitrario, sino mediar una situación particular concreta con un espacio común de sentido. Aquí se examina la forma como, según Gadamer, se realiza esta mediación, tanto en la comprensión del mundo social como al nivel más fundamental del lenguaje vivo. Al final, se insinúan algunas vías de desarrollo que abre este examen, en particular la de una filosofía social hermenéutica capaz de dar orientaciones de sentido a las sociedades capitalistas contemporáneas.
