Decision-Makers is an international, multidisciplinary scholarly journal dedicated to advancing theory and practice related to the study and improvement of decision-making processes in economics, business, and society at large.

This journal was established to provide researchers with a multidisciplinary forum for rigorous analysis and critical reflection on the contemporary challenges facing the study of economics and business. It aims to promote ethical and sustainable contributions to society by fostering responsible decision-making aligned with human and social development in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world.

Decision-Makers welcomes research from diverse disciplines that addresses decision-making as a central framework for examining contemporary ethical challenges. Recognizing the complexity of today's problems, this journal encourages innovative and interdisciplinary approaches that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. Accordingly, it is multidisciplinary and is committed to promoting interdisciplinarity as a defining feature of its academic mission. As such, Decision-Makers represents a pioneering and innovative publication within the academic and scholarly publishing landscape.

This journal promotes international research with particular emphasis on studies situated in Latin America, seeking to bridge global perspectives with regional knowledge. Decision-Makers publishes previously unpublished original research articles in Spanish and English on a continuous open-access basis following a double-blind peer-review process.

Decision-Makers is published in cooperation with the School of Economics and Business Administration at Universidad Panamericana.

Adhesion to International Declarations

Decision-Makers is committed to open access with good practice related to research, authorship and scientific publishing, thus promoting compliance with the following statements at the various stages involved in the publication process:

• Open Access. Decision-Makers adheres to the Budapest Declaration of Open Access Initiative; Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing and Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.
• Research Integrity. Decision-Makers adheres to the Singapore Declaration on Integrity in Research.
• Publication and Publication Ethics. Decision-Makers adheres to the principles and practices defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
• Authorship policies. Decision-Makers adheres to the principles of authorship established by the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).

Preservation of digital archives

Decision-Makers supports the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system as a permanent and secure archive for the journal. CLOCKSS is an open code program developed by the Library of Stanford University that enables libraries to preserve selected web-based magazines. It regularly searches registered journals to compile and file newly published contents. Each file is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any contents that may be damaged or lost can be restored using those records or the journal itself.

The journal is also stored and viewed in the institutional repository SCRIPTA, which is managed by the Library of Universidad Panamericana. SCRIPTA enables the preservation of the documents published by the journal as well as retrieval through the different repository networks worldwide. Additionally, as a preventive measure in the event of system failure or discontinuity of the publication, the institutional Library preserve restricted copies of the documents to ensure their perpetuity over time.

 

Access and Publication Costs

In compliance with open access policies, Decision-Makers provides free access to all published articles and encourages the sharing and dissemination of texts at no cost to readers. The journal, does not consider costs for authors associated with the publication of manuscripts.
